HOW TO
INSTALL LIGHTNING STRIKE COUNTER :
Lightning
strike counter is very easy, because usually lightning counter is installed
only by inserting a cable that has been connected to the lightning rod to the
grounding. Here's how to install lightning strike counter:
1.
Set up the
lightning strike counter of your choice.
2.
Make sure the
lightning rod head terminal is installed and connected to the cable perfectly.
3.
Make sure you have
determined the place for this strike counter.
4.
Place the lightning
counter under the SPD cable or under the conductor of the lightning rod.
5.
Loosen the crane
screw nut on the back of the lightning rod, spring washer, and flat gasket,
remove the clamp, to put the power SPD ground cable and or the lower conductor
rod part of the lightning rod between the two screw nuts, then install the
pressing plate, flat gasket, spirng washer, nut nut, tighten the two bolt nuts.
6.
Pay attention to
the ground cable, power SPD or bottom conductor mounting and wiring diagram
(bareness, lightning rod parts and mounting plates, pressure plates. The
contact segment must be well connected to low contact resistance, to ensure the
accuracy of the calculation is reference only, of a kind).
7.
Pull the cable into
the grounding system.
8.
Just a tip for the
grounding system, make sure the soil resistance is below 3 ohms.
9.
Finish.
HOW TO CARE
FOR LIGHTNING COUNTER :
Actually,
there is no special treatment for this lightning strike counter. However, each
of you should check the ground wire of the power SPD or the lower rod part of
the conductor of the lightning rod, to see if the contact segments are well
connected or not. If the conductor down is non-oxidizing or rusting, it will
affect the lightning calculation. When there is no display on the screen, or
the screen is not clear, remove the fourth screw of the screw and open the
cover, changing the battery inside to the same model battery. This is done to
prevent lightning counter errors or other unwanted things.
